Cannon Valley Christian Church is a caring community of believers that is oriented to both the local area and the Body of Christ world-wide. The core of our church is its heartbeat for teaching and training people to become genuine disciples. Every program and mission outreach is designed to support and encourage people to become genuine followers of Jesus and mature in their life with Him and one another. Discipleship is not a program of Cannon Valley Christian Church, its the purpose of our church and the individual members.

Betrayed!

Read 1 Kings 20:1 through 22:53

Returning early from vacation, Brad and Sarah pulled into their driveway at midnight. Brad said with alarm, “The kitchen light is on!” A quick phone call brought the police just in time to seize the burglar at the back door. The couple was furious to see it was their neighbor, who was supposed to be house-sitting for them! In his hand were three $100 bills from the envelope hidden in their freezer.

The neighbor admitted his thievery and was sorry. He regretted betraying their friendship, and he sought their forgiveness.

Ahab betrayed God by selling himself out to evil more than any other man. But when Ahab was truly sorry for his behavior, God stated: “Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me?” (1 Kings 21:29).

God knows genuine remorse; we can’t fool Him. If we truly regret our wrong thoughts, words, and actions, He knows it. He is merciful to all who come to Him for salvation through His Son Jesus. His forgiveness is available to everyone who recognizes his or her wrongs and humbly seeks Him for the strength to overcome.

Thought for Today: No sin is beyond God’s mercy and forgiveness when there is true repentance.
